Some of the ways you can help Free Books of Boston:
Check with your local library to see when they recycle/dump books; rescue the discarded books, and bring them to us. (Or find homes for them yourself by starting a free books bookshelf, donating them to schools, prisons, etc. We have resources.)
Start a "free books" bookshelf in your community at a coffee shop, grocery store, restaurant, local business, etc. We can give you ideas about how to start this up, and can provide the books.
Check with your local schools to see if they need books. Come get books from us and deliver them. Check with schools in needy areas.
Investigate the defunct program at the Boston Public Library which brought books to patrons who couldn't get to the library. See if you can take over this program. Instead of library books, however, you would provide free books; they could be returned to us after use or not, as the patron wished.
Provide storage space for books.
Deliver books to Children's Hospital.
Help us carry boxes of books!
